BC- EASP | BC Association of Equine Assisted Services Professionals

Founded in 1986 as the BC Therapeutic Riding Association, our original mission was to support adaptive horseback riding for individuals with disabilities. As the field has evolved, so has our understanding of the profound impact horse-human partnerships have on human well-being. To reflect our growing scope, we rebranded in 2026 as the BC Association of Equine Assisted Services Professionals (BC-EASP). As a professional association, we do not directly provide services; instead, we support, connect, and represent the practitioners and organizations across British Columbia who do. We empower professionals delivering both mounted and unmounted programs—including adaptive riding, vaulting, equine-assisted learning, psychotherapy, and para-equestrian development. Through leadership, advocacy, and education, we are committed to advancing our sector for the benefit of our members, the communities they serve, and the horses we partner with.
